Is fashion art? I wouldn't think so. Of course the answer to this question could fill an entire book. Some fashion is art. Haute couture can be art. Anything that is handmade really, although we need an artist to make art and some fashion designers are more stylists than artists. It's true that more and more fashion finds its way into a museum or a gallery. More and more collectors turn to fashion (vintage or other). It's as if the language of art has come into the world of fashion: we talk about limited editions, about curating a collection, about building it up, about editing, ... Here are some images that clearly show us how close fashion has come to the art world. Whether we talk about an installation in a museum, a fashion show or a statement made at Art Basel/Miami.
